Emily Petrenko, Artistic Director and Choral Conductor, Main Choir and Chamber Choir

Mrs. Emily Petrenko has Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Music and Education, and has taught music at all levels, including in the Music Departments of Wilfrid Laurier University and The University of Western Ontario. She currently teaches music at King George Elementary School in Guelph. In collaboration with the Elora Festival, Emily is the Artistic Director of Elora Youth Arts Productions and produces a fully staged musical in only five days each summer through the Elora Festival Kids Camp. Emily directs the Youth Choir at St. John’s Elora, sings in its all-professional choir directed by Noel Edison, and can be heard on a number of professional CDs on the NAXOS label. Emily Young, Conductor, Training Choir and Junior Choir

Ms Emily Young is a current MA candidate studying Community Music at Wilfrid Laurier University. She completed her Bachelor of Music Education in Voice at Laurier in 2014, and completed her Bachelor of Education at the University of Toronto in 2015. Emily is the founder and facilitator of the adult Port Credit Glee in Mississauga, and maintains a private voice, theory and piano studio in her home in Georgetown. She has directed, choreographed and stage managed many children's theatre shows at the Living Arts Centre's Bravo Broadway program. Emily Bird, Conductor, Cantiamo and Training Choir South                                                                                                          

Emily Bird is a soprano and graduate from the University of Western Ontario, with a Bachelor of Music honors specialization in Music Education. She currently works as a children's choir conductor, conducting two choirs with the Mississauga Children's Choir, and is the director of the Junior Choir at Royal York Road United Church in Etobicoke. In the summer of 2014, Emily made her operatic debut as Barbarina in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro at Accademia Europea Dell'Opera in Lucca, Italy. In the summer of 2016, she participated in the Advanced Oratorio program at the Victoria Conservatory of Music Summer Academy, in Victoria, British Columbia. Emily is a founding member of Cor Unum Ensemble, Toronto's newest baroque ensemble, and is currently serving as the general manager.

Surinder Mundra, Accompanist and Boys Choir Conductor

Mr Surinder Mundra is a pianist, organist, harpsichordist, composer and director, and has performed with many orchestras including the North York Symphony Orchestra. He is a rehearsal accompanist for the National Ballet Company, and is the assistant and apprentice conductor for the Toronto Concert Orchestra. Mr Mundra specializes in Gregorian Chant. 

Qiao Yi Miao Mu, Accompanist, Main and Chamber Choir

Ms Qiao Yi Miao Mu received her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal, under the tutelage of André Laplante. Ms Miao Mu recently completed her Artist Diploma at the Glenn Gould School under the guidance of John Perry and David Louie. She is a recipient of Productions Musicales Kaléidoscope’s Scholarship in 2014. Ms Miao Mu thrives to make classical music relatable to the larger public through commented recitals.

Michelle Kim, Accompanist, Training Choir South

Michelle received Master of Music in Performance, Advanced Certificate for Performance and Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of Toronto where she was under the tutelage of Marietta Orlov. She currently performs, runs her own studio, and coaches instrumentalists at art high schools around GTA. As a former pianist and principal flutist of the National Concert Band, Michelle Kim has performed at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa and Chan Centre for the Arts in Vancouver. For her solo and ensemble performances, she has performed at the Metro Convention Centre, Toronto Centre for the Arts, Nuit Blanche, and Living Arts Centre. Outside of Canada, Michelle has performed as a soloist in Spain, Austria and in USA. She is an active soloist as well as a collaborative pianist.

Dianna McGregor, Choir Coordinator                                                                                                                                  

Ms Dianna McGregor is a former MCC chorister and head chorister. She is a graduate of the Early Childhood Education program at Humber College and is a Registered Early Childhood Educator. Dianna is now studying at University of Guelph-Humber in the Early Childhood Studies program. Ms McGregor worked along Emily Bird as the Cantiamo Assistant for the past year and a half. 

Joelle Peresin, Cantiamo Assistant                                                                            

Ms. Joelle Peresin is a grade 10 student at Cawthra Park Secondary School, enrolled in the Regional Arts Vocal Program.  She was an MCC chorister for 5 years.  Joelle has been active in Community Theatre, and has appeared in Annie, The Sound of Music and The Little Mermaid.  She is currently studying piano and in her spare time enjoys playing hockey and soccer.
